The proposed route got over or close by to some of the most beautiful and popular tourist areas in Galloway.

SPEN have appointed consultants to look at undergrounding "pinch points" ie. A712 Queen's Way crossing, Bennan, Slogarie, Laurieston Forest and where the route crosses the A75 near Ringford. SPEN, though, have always stated that their preferred option is a complete "pylon route"
